'Herefordshire Council and Amey were delighted to be selected for Gumdrop’s first UK residential trial in 2010. The six month trial was unbelievably successful and produced an amazing 39% reduction in chewing litter, where a Gumdrop was present. After our successful trial, it was decided to permanently introduce Gumdrop’s to a specific area in Hereford City Centre, to help preserve the environment for the enjoyment of residents, visitors and businesses. We pride ourselves on being an environmentally friendly county with a number of ‘green’ initiatives already in place and we’re proud to have added Gumdrop to our recycling family.' Launch Details:
Herefordshire council was one of 12 councils in the UK to be picked for the Keep Britain Tidy Chewing Gum Litter Campaign. Herefordshire installed Gumdrops in and around the town centre as part of the campaign. The  launch day happened on the same day as the launch of the campaign. The Gumdrop team was there talking to and educating the people of Hereford and handing out badges. We also got some interest from the press on the day and managed to do radio interviews with Radio 2 Drive time, Sunshine Radio, as well as have articles in the local paper and on sky news.
